happy "it's 8 days after the first day of fall and the temperature finally dropped below 75 degrees" day

Fall is upon us friends! Well, hopefully anyways. We do live in Kansas, so ya never know. But still, today was beautiful. It's the perfect weekend for getting together with friends and having a bonfire.

coldplay!

Last night I had the pleasure of enjoying one of the best concerts that I have ever been to, and let me just say that...

COLDPLAY IS AMAZING.

Those boys know how to put on a show. The music was amazing, the video work was oh-so good, there was a big moon overhead, and the weather was perfect.

By far, the best part of the show was when they sang "Til Kingdom Come," which is my favorite song on X&Y (it's the hidden track). But it got even better when they announced that they wrote this song for none other than Johnny Cash and then proceeded to play "Ring of Fire." Stephanie and I just about peed on the lawn of Sandstone, we were so excited.

You can't get much better than Johnny Cash and Coldplay...mixed together. Too cool.

yes, I am alive

I make a promise to all of you I will never use the phrase "orange barrels" on my blog again. I've heard too much the past couple weeks "Katie, seriously, everytime I open your blog it still says 'orange barrels!' please update!" So, here I am.

Life has been busy as of late. Mostly with good stuff though, so that's nice. School is back in session and I'm settling into my new classes. I'm still using my mad skills as a major procrastinator, but you gotta find some way to make life interesting, right? Also, I completed my duties as bridesmaidright for Wedding #1 this past weekend. Janon and Derek created a beautiful service to share with their friends and family and God's prescence was definitely felt. We all had a great time dancin' it up at the reception. (click the picture for a mini slideshow). Wedding #2 (Geri & Trent) is quickly approaching at the beginning of October. If anyone needs a bridesmaid dress let me know, because I'm getting to have quite a collection.

Today, Laura and I registered for Passion '06!! That means in January, David, James, Laura, and I will be road trippin' to Nashville for a good time with Jesus and and a zillion other college students from around the country. We are pumped.

In not quite so happy news, my friends Josh and Stephanie are moving. God has called them to continue raising their family in Oklahoma. The idea of having two of my best friends so far away is depressing, but it gives those of us left up here a good excuse for a road trip, I suppose. You guys will be missed!

In other news, God has blessed me with the opportunity of not one, but three new jobs! Not all of them are a for sure deal yet, I'm still praying and waiting for God's discernment. God has really answered my concerns about financial issues in a BIG way! He rocks.

I'm sure there is something I'm forgetting in this huge update, but it's 1am, it's raining, and going to bed sounds really good right now.

I love you all, thanks for your friendship.

orange barrels

So yeah...I decided to change my template. Promptly after making the switch, I realized I don't have the time to work with it and make it BEA-utiful. The weekend is upon us and I plan on spending mine camping out at Clinton, going to the Irish Fest in Kansas City, celebrating the birthdays of both my wonderful mom and my honorary niece Aubrey, and getting a massage. Working on my blog template fits absolutely nowhere in there. I'll get 'er done eventually.

Happy weekend all!
